Ok.....so I digress...but these guys on the Italian team are hot - and that was all I needed to cheer for them. Clearly the best men won.

Europeans don't have the hangups that Americans do.
Just imagine the national scandal that would erupt here if the Pittsburgh Steelers or the Chicago White Sox or the Miami Heat had their pictures taken like that.
Or better yet, those NASCAR guys (blecch! They're definitely guys who look better with their clothes on.)
You're absolutely right. Americans are very prudish about this kind of stuff. Hasn't helped improve the culture if you ask me. The upside of that is ---- we don't have to see fat, fooball players with no necks. YECK! THEIR football players are more svelte than our football players.
In all fairness - this is an ad campaign for underwear. B&G I think is the company. I've searched far and wide looking for poster size reproductions to no avail. :)
