Zogby Poll: Over 70 Million American Adults Support New 9/11 Investigation
Although the Bush administration continues to exploit September 11 to justify domestic spying, unprecedented spending and a permanent state of war, a new Zogby poll reveals that less than half of the American public trusts the official 9/11 story or believes the attacks were adequately investigated.
The poll is the first scientific survey of Americans' belief in a 9/11 cover up or the need to investigate possible U.S. government complicity, and was commissioned to inform deliberations at the June 2~4 "9/11: Revealing the Truth, Reclaiming our Future" conference in Chicago. Poll results indicate 42% believe there has indeed been a cover up (with 10% unsure) and 45% think "Congress or an International Tribunal should re-investigate the attacks, including whether any US government officials consciously allowed or helped facilitate their success" (with 8% unsure). The poll of American residents was conducted from Friday, May 12 through Tuesday, May 16, 2006. Overall results have a margin of sampling error of +/- 2.9. All inquiries about questions, responses and demographics should be directed to Zogby International.
According to Janice Matthews, executive director of 911truth.org, "To those of us who have followed the mounting evidence for US government involvement in 9/11, these results are both heartening and frankly quite amazing, given the mainstream media's ongoing refusal to cover the most critical questions of that day. Our August 2004 Zogby poll of New Yorkers showed nearly half believe certain U.S. officials 'consciously' allowed the attacks to happen and 66% want a fresh investigation, but these were people closest to the tragedy and most familiar with facts refuting the official account. This revelation that so many millions nationwide now also recognize a 9/11 cover up and the need for a new inquiry should be a wake up call for all 2006 political candidates hoping to turn this country around. We think it also indicates Americans are awakening to the larger pattern of deceit that led us into Constitutional twilight and endless war, and that our independent media may have finally come of age."

Marty posted up a newer video of the Pentagon strike. I've seen different versions, but not this one. If you haven't seen it, check it out:
On The Homefront
That Pentagon tape looks more like a missle than a plane.
911 conspiracy theories are the result of a fundamentally right-wing phenomenon, the conspiracy theory, slowing working it's way into the traditionally anti-conspiracist left-wing. While I agree that the whole story of incompetence has yet to be told, I am find the notion of complicity by our government in the slaugher of three thousand Americans for clearly preposterous reasons, intellecually insulting.
..I agree that the tape looks like a missle rather than a plane!
As far as being insulted by those putting forward the idea of complicity by our government in the attacks on 9/11 - I think its narrow to simply dismiss the idea outright. Of course no one wants to belive that - just as no one wishes to believe their spouse cheated on them or their little girl had sex or their best friend betrayed them -- its hard to wrap your brain around that idea. Because if its true - then you will have no idea what is real and what isn't real. That would destroy everything you've grown up beliving about your country. Our government has been responsible for many atrocities over its history. Atrocities commited in our name. To turn a blind eye means you endorse it. We never thought our government would be about torture but there we are - torturing and holding people without charges indefinitely. I don't think its a huge leap to think there might be some complicity in 9/11. Since it is clear that those in power misled the country into a war they wanted for many years by using 9/11 as rationale to do so --- then I think its at least something which must be considered. Anyone who is willing to sacrifice the lives of American soldiers and kill innocent Iraqis based on a lie for ideological reasons is certainly capable of ignoring intelligence data and allowing a catastrophic event to happen so they could do something they'd had a hard on to do for many years. There are way too many unanswered questions - and when has America ever been about having a 'secret government' with 'secret things going on' that Americans are not entitled to know about? WE ARE THE GOVERNMENT!!! I think to simply dismiss the idea because you find it intellectually insulting is arrogant and self righteous. Let the chips fall where they may and if there's nothing to support that then we can go back to calling them conspiracy kooks.
I doubt if we will ever know what really happened that day.
I plan on posting a video on the Twin Towers soon.
