Roadside Bomb Kills 3 U.S. GIs

A roadside bomb killed three U.S. soldiers south of Baghdad on Friday, and American forces shot and killed three suspected insurgents north of the capital, U.S. military authorities said. The soldiers were killed while on a mission in Babil province when their vehicle was struck by an explosion at 11:45 a.m., the military said in a brief statement. Capt. Muthanna Ahmad of the Babil police force said a bomb destroyed the vehicle in a U.S. military convoy north of Hilla, about 60 miles south of Baghdad.
