Your clock is twelve hours fast. It is counting the time until midnight when it becomes January 20, 2009, but unfortunately the inaugural oath is not administered until noon Eastern time.
But I do like the number, 1000. On election night, I was very depressed because it was then 1540. But slowly, surely, the sand has been running out of the hourglass.

Now - how in the world did you look at the countdown clock and 'get' that it was fast? I never in a million years would have gotten that. I am notifying the 'keeper of the clock' in your behalf!!!
