Your calls worked!
Responding in part to your activism, the Ohio School Board yesterday voted 11-4 to revoke science standards requiring the teaching of "critical analysis" of evolution, language that allows creationist arguments to be asserted against sound science in public school classrooms.
Following on the heels of a sweeping Pennsylvania ruling against an "intelligent design" curriculum in the town of Dover, this Ohio vote is a major setback for the creationist movement. This is a victory for the constitutional separation of church and state and a victory for the children of Ohio whose science education will not be compromised by right-wing extremists.
