U.N. Says U.S. Should Repay Iraq For Halliburton Overcharges
A story scheduled to run in Saturday's New York Times reveals that a United Nations sponsored auditing committee has advocated that the United States should make amends for overcharged contracting work.
A few years ago, a separate audit undertaken by the Pentagon determined that Halliburton subsidiary Kellogg, Brown and Root in 2003 and 2004 had overcharged for fuel deliveries to the US Military. Before becoming Vice President, Dick Cheney was the chief executive for Halliburton.
