Senate Emerges From Closed Session on Iraq
Democrats forced the Republican-controlled Senate into an unusual closed session Tuesday, questioning intelligence that President Bush used in the run-up to the war in Iraq and accusing Republicans of ignoring the issue.
"They have repeatedly chosen to protect the Republican administration rather than get to the bottom of what happened and why," Democratic leader Harry Reid said.
Taken by surprise, Republicans derided the move as a political stunt.
"The United States Senate has been hijacked by the Democratic leadership," said Majority Leader Bill Frist of Tennessee. "They have no convictions, they have no principles, they have no ideas," the Republican leader said.
(Now, isn't that quote of Bill Frist's special? Lets see...he used his super human doctor skills to diagnose Terry Shiavo via video and declared that she was not brain dead (clearly a political diagnosis not a medical one), he's under investigation for being informed of the activities of his blind trust --- yet this political AND stock market opportunist has the audacity to say that the Dems have no principles or convictions. HUH? He says it because he knows the press won't call him on it. The hypocricy of these people is enough to make me loose my dinner.)
