Bird Flu Virus Strikes In Greece

- Bird-flu virus struck Greece, raising concerns that the deadly infection that killed at least 60 people in Asia has started its spread into the European Union.

Testing is under way to determine whether the virus is the most virulent H5N1 strain that is capable of killing humans or a milder form, said Greek Agriculture Minister Evangelos Basiakos. The virus may have killed a turkey on the island of Oinousses in the Aegean Sea not far from Turkey, where H5N1 has been detected in dead birds.
